Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday said India’s anger at Pakistan for the ambush of five of its soldiers was not understandable, adding that Indians were in a habit of blaming Pakistan even if a cracker went off in the country.

Addressing a press conference, he said it was counterproductive to find the Pakistan Army at fault for the killing of five Indian soldiers in Poonch near the Line of Control.

“The area is at least five kilometres away from the Line of Control,” he said, adding that it was “not possible for Pakistani soldiers to have been there.”

At least five Indian soldiers were killed on Tuesday when they were allegedly ambushed by 20 armed militants, the Indian Defence Minister AK Antony said. The militants were allegedly wearing Pakistan Army uniforms. Pakistan has categorically rejected the accusations.

The interior minister added that Pakistan wanted peace in the region, but a blame game played out in the Indian media spoilt the atmosphere.

The killing of five Indian troops near the Line of Control has triggered a series of protests in India against Pakistan.

India’s main opposition party Bharataya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded talks with Pakistan be called off.

  4. Dearest Nisar, please forget anything that will happen in Pakistan in future as Indian conspiracy since you're deadly serious about assuring the Indians the futility of blaming Pakis for their acts in the glory of Islam.

  6. How convenient.. as elections approach in India, another issue with Pakistan is surfaced.. I think Indian politicians need to come up with some new tricks to fool their public.
For once, why not look within the Indian frame work and work out why these soldiers have died. How long can we keep minorities with legitimate claims of autonomy caged with brutal force. Its a zero-sum game. What goes around, comes around.

  7. India (Hunduism) can NEVER be a friend of Pakistan. So forget any good result from any sort of talk with India. Pakistan should pay all their attention toward their internal unrest. Keep India away from any further discussion. There will be NO POSITIVE result from India-Pakistan talk.It is waste of energy and time.

    • These kinds of incidents and killings are never acceptable to any country. Pakistan is guilty of these killings, simply accept it and make sure it does not happen again. What pakistan needs most at this time is both internal and external peace,so it can concentrate on improving the lives of it's people. Eid Mubarak to all. May Allah keep us all on the right path and grant us peace and prosperity- Ameen.
