The Lahore High Court on Tuesday restrained Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) from interfering in PP-161’s by-elections.
Justice Shahid Waheed passed the order on a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Candidate Khalid Waheed.
The court also sought a reply from the Pakistan Election Commission till August 13.
Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel argued before the court that the CCPO is PP-161 by-elections candidate Chaudhary Gulzar Ahmad’s elder brother. He pleaded before the court to restrain the respondent from participating in the elections.
After hearing the argument, the court restrained the CCPO from interfering in the by-elections.
