Around 200 members of the Youth Congress gathered near the Pakistan High Commission in Chanakyapuri in central Delhi on Wednesday to protest the killings of five Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.
They climbed police barricades and raised anti-Pakistan slogans.
Water cannons were used to disperse the protesters and 175 of them were detained. They were later let off.
Protesters also demanded Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cancel his proposed meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Meanwhile, Indian External Affiars Minister Salman Khursheed said an explanation had been summoned from Pakistan regarding the LoC incident following which the decision would be placed in front of parliament.
