UN secretary general will visit Pakistan on 13th

United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is reaching Islamabad on a two-day visit on August 13.
During his stay‚ he will discuss steps for polio eradication and promotion of education specially women education with Pakistani leadership, reported state-run radio on Tuesday.
The UN Secretary General is expected to hold meetings with the president‚ the PM‚ adviser to the PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security‚ the National Assembly speaker‚ women lawmakers and other high officials.
The secretary general will also take part in the Independence Day celebrations besides attending a number of functions including events on Polio eradication and youth education and inauguration of the Centre of Peace and Security at NUST.
He is also expected to have a joint news conference with the PM after their meeting.

  1. Inclusion of polio eradication as one of the agenda points for discussion, shows just how much concerned is the global community about the progress of government efforts and steps needed to be taken for the future.
