The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing into the multi-billion Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) scam until the appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.

A two-member SC bench comprising Justice Anwer Zaheer Jamali and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed resumed the hearing into the OGRA implementation case and the arrest of its former chief Tauqeer Sadiq.

During the course of the proceedings, to a bench query, the NAB prosecutor said the office of NAB chairman was still vacant as the process of its appointment was underway.

Justice Jamali said how could the matters of the bureau be run in the absence of a chairman.

KK Agha appeared before the bench and informed it that he was going abroad and wanted the case to be adjourned.

Accepting his request, the bench adjourned further hearing for an indefinite period.
