Key Taliban commander involved in DI Khan jail break arrested

A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan commander involved in the DI Khan Central Jail attack was arrested from a hospital early on Tuesday.

According to media reports, terrorist commander Ahmed Mujahid alias Faqeer Baba was admitted to DI Khan District Headquarters hospital (DHQ) in a wounded condition.

He told the hospital administer that he was a resident of Kot Addu and had been accidentally shot.

On his suspicious statement, the police authorities shifted him to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and started interrogations.

During investigation the accused admitted that he was a member of the ‘Lashkar’ which attacked the DI Khan jail.

He revealed that the jail-break plan was made on July 10 in the Toi Khala area of South Waziristan and assailants reached DI Khan from the Looni area of Kalachi tehsil.

60 terrorists were involved in the attack, he said.

Mujahid is a key commander of the Punjabi Taliban and hails from South Punjab.
