Govt to provide security to Zardari after retirement

The federal government has decided to extend necessary security to President Asif Zardari after his retirement September 9.
According to reports, President Zardari is not receiving salary from the national exchequer and he has not yet decided to receive pension as admissible to him under the rules. He is also entitled to hire official accommodation, have services of a secretary, a private secretary and driver.
Negotiations are going on with the security authorities about the level of security Zardari would be needing in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad.
Sources said on retirement, the president will first move to Karachi and then might shift to Lahore.
