Daily wages employees of allied hospitals of Rawalpindi have protested against non-regularisation of services despite a lapse of 20 years.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif issued orders during his previous tenure for regularisation of daily wages employees but over a dozen employees including helpers, plumbers, welders, ward boys and others are still working on daily wages in allied hospitals and medical colleges.

The employees said that they applied for regularisation of their services several times in the past but the management of allied hospitals have paid no heed to them. Many among them have reached retirement age and some of them are trying to seek jobs elsewhere for a better future.

The daily wages employees have appealed to Punjab CM to take immediate notice of the matter and direct the allied hospitals management to regularise them.
