A proscribed militant group has claimed responsibility for the abduction of Ali Haider Gilani, son of former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani, reported a private TV channel on Tuesday.
Ali Haider Gilani was kidnapped on May 2 during election campaign in Multan. Abu Yazeed, a spokesman for the outfit calling itself Al-Mansooreen Brigade, said Ali Haider was in their safe custody.
The spokesman was calling from an Afghan phone number. He said the group would release a video of Gilani shortly after Eid to put up their demands.
