Police on Monday recovered a boy who had been sold by his parents to a wealthy family in Diska area of Sheikhupura.
Imran Ashraf, a resident of Nawankot, told reporters that he had sold his son to a philanthropist so that he could repay a loan.
He said according to the deal, brokered by his mother-in-law, it was agreed that they would get Rs 60,000, however, he had only received Rs 10,000 in return for his son.
Ashraf said he decided to take his child back as he was not happy after taking the decision. A private TV channel helped the police recover the child.
