Pakistan-bound passengers endure 40-hour delay at Manchester Airport

As many as 300 passengers had to face a 40-hour-long delay on Friday when a fault developed in an Airblue plane scheduled for Islamabad from Manchester.

According to sources, the flight scheduled for take-off at Friday 9:50pm was postponed to Sunday 3pm Sunday but the passengers still found themselves waiting at 4pm.

An Airblue spokesman said the passengers were offered rooms in the nearest hotel but

many preferred to stay at the airport as the hotel was at least 80 miles away in Birmingham.

Manchester Airport said on Sunday that it was assisting Airblue in the matter.
