Nine new dengue cases and hundreds of larva sites!

Dengue Control Programme’s Dr Furrukh Sultan on Monday said the threat of dengue had not been completely eradicated as nine confirmed cases were reported in the city which might increase in the coming days.
He said that dengue larva had been found and disposed off from around 750 indoor and 630 outdoor sites, including houses, factories, tyre shops, graveyards and lawns since January.
He said 495 teams each comprising three personnel were inspecting different places around the city.
To a question, he said that 750 FIRs had been registered so far while 73 individuals had been rounded up, and additionally 23 factories and tyre shops were sealed during the current year.
He appealed to the masses to cooperate with the larva finding teams, to use nets at their houses and to keep the environment clean and dry.
In the current rainy season people needed to take more precautionary measures as dengue cases might increase, he added.
