The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has again excused from holding local body elections in September.

According to details, the ECP said it required 90 days after the legislation was completed for the conducting LB elections and the elections could not be conducted before that period. The ECP said presidential polls were conducted after the general elections, whereas, the by-elections were going to be held on August 22.

The commission said Cantonment Board elections were also scheduled right after by-elections and it was, therefore, not possible for it to hold multiple elections at the same time.

  1. the sole body to hold elections do not wish to conduct elections, i.e., they will only be ready if the very sharifs and other masters are say so. ECP and Courts are being taken for ride by Sharifs to implement own terms, First Punjab govt refuses to hold and want extensions even after last 6 years in power, they are not ready…. when this line go so old, then comes along the ECP saying same thing. All this is just to fool Pakistan nation!
