Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui on Monday undertook a six hours visit to the rain affected areas of the provincial metropolis.
He was accompanied by the Karachi Central Deputy Commissioner Dr Saifur Rehman.
On the occasion, the commissioner said that the government was making every possible effort for the provision of relief to the rain affected people and that they would not be left alone in this hour of need.
He further said that the relief and rescue work was being carried out continuously.
It was further pointed out that the deputy commissioners of Karachi central and Malir have established relief camps where the rain affected people were being provided with relief items.
Moreover, the commissioner said spray work was also being carried out in the relief camps, the commissioner added.
