The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources on Monday decided to keep open compressed natural gas (CNG) stations during Eid holidays in larger public interest.
According to sources, the ministry has issued directives to supply gas to the CNG sector on all Eid days. However, the final schedule will be issued within next two days.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water and Power also decided to provide uninterrupted supply of electricity to all the consumers during Eid holidays. The ministry has also issued directives to NTDC in this regard.
However, sources said the ministry was informed that it was difficult to provide electricity throughout Eid holidays after which it was decided that the first day of Eid would be exempted from load shedding.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, government offices will remain closed from August 8 due to Eidul Fitr and will reopen on August 12.
