Indian spy Sarbajit Singh’s daughter, Swapandeep Kaur, has been appointed as a local naib tehsildar.
According to Times of India, Panjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has appointed Kaur in revenue department of Panjab, India.
Sarabjit, 49, was killed after he was attacked in a Pakistani prison, and this move by the chief minister was to fulfill the promise made to the family.
In a local event at Jalandhar, Swapandeep was presented a letter of appointment in recognition of Sarbajit’s services for the nation.
The chief minister said: “With this, we have fulfilled our national as well as moral duty”.
He also expressed best wishes to Swapandeep and hoped she would work with utmost dedication and sincerity.
Extending his best wishes to Swapandeep Kaur, the chief minister hoped she would perform her duty with utmost sincerity and dedication.
He further said he would continue to extend his support to the family. Swapandeep will officially join her duty today (Monday).
