President Asif Ali Zardari accepted the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Fakhar-ud-Din G Ibrahim on Saturday before his visit to Tehran.
After accepting the resignation, the president sent it to the prime minister for necessary action. The PM will forward it to the Cabinet division for issuance of notification after which the CEC would be as relived of his duties.
