Police arrests woman’s killer

Police on Saturday arrested a suspect in the murder case of Gujjar Bibi who was shot dead by one of her relatives. Her body was found dumped in Bekhar Fateh Baksh area in the precincts of Golra Police Station.

According to details, Muhammad Sardar, resident of Dhok Kashmirian, Badia Rustam lodged a complaint on July 5 at Golra Police Station when her mother did not return home. On July 6, Golra Police found a dead body of a woman dumped in Bekhar Fateh Baksh area which was later identified by Muhammad Sardar at Pakistan Institute of Medical Science’s (PIMS) mortuary. Golra Police Station registered a case (no.218) under section 302.

A special team headed by SP (Saddar) Jameed Hashmi was constituted including Sub-Inspector Ejaz Ali Shah, ASI Mumtaz Habib and Constables Kifayat and Ghulam Shabbir to solve the case.

The police team arrested the deceased’s relative Ali Jan, resident of Hill Kot Manshera who confessed to killing Gujjar Bibi due to differences with her.

 

18 ARRESTED: Meanwhile, Additional SHO of Sabzi Mandi Police Station Javed Iqbal along with his team exchanged fire with three suspects at IJP Principle road. The suspects opened fire when the police signalled them to stop.

One of them identified as Nayyab was arrested while the other two managed to escape. Police recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.

ASI Tipu Sultan from Tarnol Police arrested Qaisar and recovered one pistol from him while, Sub-Inspector Abdul Sattar arrested Mehrban for possession of 12 bore gun.

Crime Investigation Police (CIA) ASI Rana Tasneem arrested Manjan Khan and recovered 230 grams of hashish from his possession. Sub-Inspector Habib-ur-Rehman from Shahzad Town Police Station arrested drug pusher Zulfiqar and recovered 230 grams of hashish from him.

Sub-Inspector Alamgir Khan from Golra Police station arrested Hawaldar Khan and Attaullah Khan for carrying two 30 bore pistols and ammunition.

Separate cases have been registered and further investigation is underway.

Similarly, Rawalpindi Police arrested 11 lawbreakers and seized 1,850 grams of charras, 11 bottles of liquor and three pistols 30 bore with 10 rounds from their possession.

According to police spokesman, Bunni Police arrested both Zeeshan and Rashid for carrying 410 grams of charras and 3 bottles of liquor respectively.

Sadiqabad Police arrested Nair Hussain and Rizwan for possessing 215 grams of charras and 205 grams of charras respectively. Zohaib was nabbed with 5 liquor bottles in his possesion.

Meanwhile, Saddar Wah Police netted Taufeeq and recovered 1,020 grams of charras and Rattaamral Police held Sher Muhammad and seized three liquor bottles from him.

Others were rounded upon recovery of illegal weapons from their possession.
