Chief Commissioner Islamabad Jawad Paul on Friday reviewed the progress of the rural health projects of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
The six projects are being executed by the Project Engineers of Pakistan PWD to improve and up-grade the services of health facilities.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amer Ali Ahmed, project engineers of Pakistan PWD, DHO and officials of the ICT administration.
While reviewing the progress of projects the chief commissioner directed the project engineers to expedite work and furnish a plan for completion of remaining work including provision of drinking water, sui gas and electricity facilities by the next week.
The participants reviewed the progress of work on the uplift, rehabilitation and renovation of two Rural Health Centers, one each at Sihala and Tarlai. It was informed that 36 per cent work has been completed on the project.
The government has allocated Rs 30.156 million during the current fiscal year PSDP 2013-2014 for the project. Total cost of the project is Rs 56.804 million.
The participants also reviewed the progress of work on construction of staff accommodation for the Rural Health Center at Bhara Kahu. It was informed that 85 per cent work has been completed on the project whereas construction of Basic Health Unit at Kirpa is only 10 per cent complete.
Progress of work on the uplift, rehabilitation and renovation of 14 Basic Health Units in the rural areas of the city was also reviewed whereas 75 per cent work has been completed on the project.
The project engineers informed that work plan of tenders would be issued next week and reviewed the progress of construction of Basic Health Units at Gokina and Tarnol.
