According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 61 per cent Pakistanis claim that their children, aged ten years or less have been vaccinated against measles.
The survey was conducted across all the four provinces in which men and women from urban and rural areas were asked, “How many children aged less than ten years are there in your house?”. Responding to this, 23 per cent said one, 26 per cent said two, 9 per cent said three, 6 per cent said four or more children whereas 34 per cent said none, while 2 per cent did not respond.
Respondents were further asked, “Do you remember if these children have been vaccinated against measles?” Responding to this, 61 per cent said yes, 22 per cent said no and 17 per cent did not respond.
