US Secretary of State John Kerry said US is funding to complete 1200 megawatt projects in Pakistan. He expressed these views during his visit to the Islamabad Grid Station and inspected a project of Load Data installed by the USAID.
Under the load data project smart metering system will be installed at all the grid stations. Speaking on the occasion US Secretary of State said under the Kerry-Lugar Bill so for three and half a billion dollars have been given to Pakistan.
He said the US is funding to complete 1200 megawatts projects in Pakistan. He said the annual loss to Pakistan’s exchequer due to the non availability of electricity is amounting to one thousand billion rupees.
Speaking on the occasion, Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif said that all resources are being mobilised to overcome quickly on the shortage of electricity.
US Ambassador Richard Olson inaugurated the project.
