Lindsay Lohan was released from a rehab facility on Tuesday after three months of court-mandated treatment
as part of a plea deal in a traffic case. TMZ posted a photo of Lohan, looking bright-eyed and smiling, as she was leaving the facility and reportedly headed to her stay with a sober coach for several days. The 27-year-old actress agreed to spend 90 days locked down in a rehab facility to avoid a possible eight month jail term stemming from accusations that she lied to police
about a June 2012 car accident.
Though she was also ordered to complete 30 days of community labor and submit to 18 months of psychotherapy, Lohan will hit the ground running following what is believed to be at least her sixth trip to rehab. Her new movie, “The Canyons,” opens on Friday and she has agreed to fill in for Chelsea Handler on Monday’s episode of the E! late night show “Chelsea Lately.”
She will also be the subject of an exclusive eight-episode docu-series on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, which will follow her as she tries to reboot her career and stay sober after leaving treatment. The series is slated to air in 2014. Lohan will also sit down with Winfrey for an interview that is scheduled to air in August. Though some critics have not been kind, the director of “The Canyons,” had high praise for his star. “Similarities? Tardiness, unpredictability, tantrums, absences, neediness, psychodrama — yes, all that, but something more, that thing that keeps you watching someone onscreen, that thing you can’t take your eyes off of, that magic, that mystery,” director Paul Schrader recently said of
Lohan’s resemblance to screen legend Marilyn Monroe.
