New-look Raisani reaches SC to ‘support’ Imran Khan

Former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani on Monday reached the Supreme Court to express solidarity with PTI chief Imran Khan in the contempt of court case, two hours ahead of the hearing on Friday.

With a shaved head, a new-look Raisani immediately got the attention of the media and as expected, he offered appropriate entertainment with his interesting remarks and poetry.

But to his disappointment, he was not allowed entry into the Supreme Court after which he staged a sit-in on the road to record his protest. However, he was later allowed to enter the Supreme Court.

Raisani told reporters that he arrived two hours earlier to express solidarity with Imran Khan. He said Khan was an honest and upright person and every politician had the right to criticise. He said the Supreme Court should be careful while summoning politicians for contempt of court.

To a question, Raisani said Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Maalik Baloch was a popular personality and his lived among the people. However, he said Dr Baloch would soon realise the pros and cons of the provincial government.

When a reporter asked Raisani about his hair, Raisani said on a lighter note: “Hair is hair, whether on a human or a buffalo.”
