Gamblers nabbed, cash seized

The Defence Police on Thursday raided a gamblers’ den in Defence B area and seized mobile phones, cash and valuables.

As per details, the police cracked down on gamblers following a tip and arrested Wasim Shoukat along with his accomplices. The police have registered an FIR against the accused in Defence Police Station for further legal proceedings.

ROBBERS NABBED, RS 40M GOLD SEIZED:

CIA Nawakot Police on Thursday arrested four robbers and seized gold worth Rs 40 million.

The police said that the master mind of the gang named Amir Sultan Chema along with his accomplices Usman, Afzal and Wahid were involved in the robbery that took place at the house of former commissioner Zahid Rafique. Further investigations are underway.

PHP RESCUES AN ABDUCTED GIRL:

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) team comprising ASI Javaid Iqbal and other officials were carrying out routine patrolling near Ali Wala Chowk when they received a wireless message from the control centre that some unidentified men traveling on a GLI car had kidnapped two girls from Lahore and were fleeing. The PHP team stopped the car at Sher Shah Flyover and rescued a girl, Rimsha, and arrested Sajjad Ahmad, Fiaz Ahmad, Fatima and Asma.

SECURITY GUARD GUNS DOWN ROBBER:

A garment shop’s security guard on Thursday gunned down a robber during a robbery attempt in Rang Mahal.

Reportedly, two men attempted to rob a garments shop in Rang Mahal when the guard foiled their attempt, killing one, while the other managed to escape.

The police, upon called, shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy. The deceased robber has not been identified yet.

‘BLACK MAGIC’ ROBBERY:

Some women robbed a house situated in Iqbal Park, Defence reportedly after ‘casting a spell’ on the inhabitants of the house.

The residents were robbed of 30 tolas of gold, Rs 50,000 cash and other valuables. The victims said that the women blinded them after casting a spell.
