Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday set an example of simplicity and austerity by bearing the expenses of his family members, including his own, visit to Jeddah via a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) commercial flight.
Besides performing Umra and visiting the Roza-e-Rasool, Nawaz will also meet Saudi King Shah Abdullah and other Saudi high officials during his visit.
Nawaz is also bearing the expenses of both the members of his entourage who are accompanying him. He will return to Pakistan on August 6.
In the past, prime ministers visiting Saudia have been accompanied by huge entourages, and travelled via special aircrafts at the national exchequer’s cost.
