The banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan on Wednesday said they have managed to shift over two dozen terrorists they got released from DI Khan jail to South Waziristan.
Two Taliban leaders told reporters by phone that 25 terrorists have arrived in South Waziristan and will move to North Waziristan.
They said on Monday night’s jailbreak in DIK was codenamed Freedom from Death, cost Rs 11.5 million and took six months to plan. Eighteen of the 150 militants who took part were given special commando training.
Police official Salahuddin Kundi said 41 of the 252 prisoners who escaped have been re-arrested.
Dozens of Taliban terrorists armed with guns, grenades and bombs attacked the Central Jail in Dera Ismail Khan, freeing more than 250 prisoners, including 25 “dangerous terrorists.”
They also killed six policemen, six Shia prisoners and two civilians during the attack.
In April 2012, the Taliban terrorists battled their way into a prison in Bannu, freeing around 400 prisoners, including at
least 20 described by police as “very dangerous” insurgents.
