The police unearthed a private torture cell and registered a case against three police inspectors on Tuesday.
According to Lubna Zahid, a resident of Sadiqabad, she brought her ailing husband Zahid Mukhtar to Lahore for medical treatment.
At Lahore bus stop during scuffle with another passenger, Southern Cantonment SHO Faisal Sharif took Mukhtar to a private torture cell.
Sharif demanded Rs 2 million for releasing Mukhtar and also threatened to kill him in fake encounter in case of not giving money, Lubna added. She later approached the court and got her husband recovered through bailiff.
On directives of the Sessions Court a case was registered against three police inspectors namely SHO Faisal Sharif, Defence SHO Mian Qadeer and Incharge Investigation Abdul Ghafoor.
