Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)’s Chaudhry Ashraf has received party ticket to contest in the upcoming NA-48 by-election.
Chaudhry Ashraf received the party ticket to contest against Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Asad Umar who was nominated from the constituency where Javed Hashmi vacated his second national assembly seat. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rescheduled the event which will now be held on August 22.
However, decision for the nomination of an ‘advocate’ in front of PTI ‘businessman’ was taken in PML-N’s parliamentary board’s meeting.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had fielded its prominent leader for gaining another success over Javed Hashmi’s vacant seat as Hashmi kept his seat from Multan. The PTI candidate submitted his nomination papers on July 9, accompanied by Adnan Randhawa, an Islamabad based leader of PTI who himself was an aspiring candidate from the same constituency.
