Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday presided over a high-level meeting attended by Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Kayani and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) DG Maj Gen Zaheerul Islam that discussed and finalised vital points for discussion with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The meeting also exchanged views and consultations on recent incidents of terrorism, besides Pak-Afghan relations and situation at the borders.
The meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan, Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatimi and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif.
A one-on-one meeting between Army Chief General Ashfaq Kayani and PM Nawaz was also held.
The two leaders decided to raise the issue of drone attacks with the US as per the government policy.
New priorities of Pakistan relations with the US were also chalked out in the meeting.
During the meeting, the army chief apprised the prime minister of his recommendations on issues of strategic importance.
The two also decided that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership take an integrated and unified stance during its dialogue with the US.
