Katy confirms musical and romantic collaboration with Mayer
Katy Perry and John Mayer sure like to keep us guessing. The on-again and off-again couple have been mighty coy about their relationship status since first stepping out together late last year. But in a turn of events, the Teenage Dream singer seems to have finally let everybody in on the big secret. While they officially called it quits in June, the singers were spotted enjoying a cosy meal for two at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood as recently as July 23. The couple left The Tower Bar & Terrace restaurant arm-in-arm, looking happy and relaxed – though they have been reluctant to put a label on their union. However, talking with Extra reporter Ben Lyons at the premiere of The Smurfs 2 in Westwood, California on Sunday, the star gave us her most candid and revealing response yet. Quizzed by the interviewer about whether a collaboration with her on-off beau is a possibility, the star winked several times into the camera as she cheekily teased, ‘We’re doing a lot of collaborating!’ But it seems the 35-year-old Heartbreak Warfare singer isn’t the only person Katy has an ‘interesting relationship’ with. The 28-year-old was accompanied by her proud grandmother, Ann Hudson, to her new film’s white carpet event on Sunday. Telling the 92-year-old she had to do some interviews and joking that they’d meet back up after she was finished filling reporters in on ‘how awful you are’, the feisty matriarch replied, ‘Drop dead!’ ‘We have a really interesting relationship!’ the singer, who voices Smurfette in the sequel, laughed. Meanwhile, fans received some more good news on Monday, this time regarding Katy’s fourth studio album release, with the announcement that Prism will drop on October 22. ‘Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you. Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map,’ Katy tweeted to her almost 40 million followers along with a photo of a blinged-out gold semi-trailer emblazoned with Katy Perry Prism 10.22.13 on the side.
