Muslims throng mosques for Aitekaf

Thousands of devout Muslims will observe Aitekaf from Tuesday at various mosques in the city to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in prayers to appease the Almighty.
Administrations of mosques have made arrangements to facilitate these individuals.
All is set for Minhaj-ul-Quran International’s Aitekaf City to be established from today onwards in Township’s Jamia Al-Minhaj.
Thousands of men and women from across the country will become residents of Aitekaf City from the Ramadan 20 till the sighting of the moon in the company of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Hundreds of people have started to arrive from abroad to take part in this annual activity.
The final meeting of over 100 administrative committees was held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz at the Aitekaf City on Sunday. Aitekaf Secretary Jawad Hamid gave a detailed briefing regarding the preparations for the mega event. Hamid briefed the meeting on the arrangements made to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted supply of water and electricity and the provision of Sehri and Iftar.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation Director Amjad Shah briefed the meeting on the round-the-clock availability of medical facilities during the ten days which included ambulances and teams of doctors.
Fayyaz gave instructions to the committees concerned regarding the smooth performance of rituals, foolproof security arrangements and the division of the Aitekaf City into different blocks for effective administration and facilitation of the residents.
