Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration is trying to improve provision of basic health facilities in the rural areas of the capital.
Renovation work of 14 basic health units and 2 Rural Health Centers each at Kirpa and Tarnol is in progress on urgent basis.
According to a press release, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed said that provision of basic health services to residents the rural areas is the top priority of ICT. “Three mobile dispensaries are working round the clock to facilitate the people,” he added.
He informed that construction of Basic Health Unit with staff accommodation at Kirpa has been approved by the Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) at a cost of Rs 47.806 million. PSDP allocated a total sum of Rs 18.917 million for the project.
Similarly, renovation work of Basic Health Unit at Tarnol has also been intensified. Two Rural Health Centers each at Talai and Sihala have been approved by (IDWP) at a total cost of Rs 56.804 million. PSDP allocated a sum of Rs 30.156 million for its renovation.
Meanwhile, work on the renovation of 14 Basic Health Units in rural areas is also being completed at a cost of Rs 56.941 million and an allocation of Rs 23.034 million has been made for the.
ICT is determined to up-grade the existing health facilities in the rural areas of Islamabad and is using all available resources for the purpose.
