Govt lacks policy regarding prohibited bore weapons

The ambiguous policy regarding renewal of arms’ licences has forced people to run from pillar to post to get their weapons legalised.
The government is yet to chalk out a clear policy regarding renewal of arms’ licences, thus making the licence holders end up in utter disappointment.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry abruptly stopped renewal of licences and announced that it would restart the process after June 30. However, it has come up with the renewal of gray book while the policy regarding renewal of pink book (registration book of prohibited bore weapons) is still lying with the ministry. Currently, the National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) is only renewing licences issued under gray book.
Interestingly, according to citizens, there is no fixed fee and NADRA is charging fine in the name of late fee for the days when renewal was officially banned. However, Nadir Shah, in-charge of NADRA weapons licence branch in F-7, denied this charge. He, however, declined to brief Pakistan Today about the fee structure.
Talking about ambiguous policy, Shah said, “Yes, this is a serious issue. As daily a number of people come here to renew their licences. But, I can’t do anything as ministry didn’t allow us to renew those licences issued on pink card. We are only renewing gray card licences.”
The high-ups of the Interior Ministry are unaware of what the government is going to do with the pink books.
“I can tell you about the renewal of pink book and fee structure after getting information from the officer concerned,” said spokesman of Interior Ministry, Joint Secretary Umar Hameed Khan.
“I have been visiting this office for the last two month to get my license renewed, but all the time, I was asked to come after few days. Earlier, I was told that after June 30 my licenses would be renowned… but now I’m being asked that temporarily pink card could not be renowned,” said Ali Azmat, a resident of Bhara Kahu.
People complained against the ministry’s ambiguous policy. “We have no idea, why the government is discouraging genuine licence holders. Despite having genuine licence, we are running from pillar to post to get our licences renewed,” said Najeeb Ali.
People were of the view that in the absence of a valid licence they could not carry weapons, as they could not convince police officials deputed at check posts and pickets.

  1. Till Government cannot provide security to every individual citizen of Pakistan now new policy of renewal or issuance of licences is required. Politician are not above then law, if they can get prohibited bore licence why not rest of the citizens.

  2. However, the nice news is that a Breitling replica watches as nice as an original. A replica watch is an exact copy of an original timepiece but it comes at a far much less cost. While purchasing a replica is a much appreciated alternative, most people cannot tell the difference between a replica watch and a fake watch. way that you can tell the difference between the is by checking their pricing.
