As many as 18 passengers were burnt to death when a van collided with a truck on Indus Highway on Tuesday, police said.
The passenger van (LES-3527) was on its way to DI Khan from Peshawar when it collided with a truck in front of Poly Technique College on Indus Highway in Karak District.
As a result of the crash, the CNG cylinder of the van exploded and engulfed the vehicle in flames. The witnesses and police said that the vehicle caught fire in no time and none of the passenger could be retrieved alive.
The driver and cleaner of the van were also among those killed. People and fire brigade officials extinguished the fire after hectic efforts. The bodies were shifted to district headquarters hospital.
