Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Monday said disciplinary action would be taken against officials not cooperating with the government in the implementation of its agenda.
Speaking at the provincial assembly, the chief minister said criticism by opposition parties over performance of the PTI government was unjustified as it had just completed 60 days in office.
He said the steps being taken by the PTI government in just two months were historic and nothing like that had ever been done in the history of the province. However, “we need three months after which people will observe a positive change in the functioning of government offices”.
“I am telling the government officials that August 15 is the yellow line and August 30 is the red line for implementation of the directives given by the provincial government otherwise stern action will be taken starting from the top brass,” Khattak warned.
He also rejected the criticism over load shedding and said it was a federal subject and the provincial government should not be blamed for the issue.
Khattak also asked the opposition MPAs to visit various departments after August 30 and point out any remaining loopholes for the government to fix. “The opposition is the part of the government and we will give due consideration to their suggestions.”
Khattak also criticised past governments for the poor state of affairs in various government departments. He said streamlining these government departments was a daunting task, but “we are determined”.
Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Shaukat Ali Yousafzai apprised the House that a new health policy was on the anvil, adding that all deficiencies in government hospitals will be overcome after July 30.
The health minister said a working group had completed its suggestions and the new policy would soon be introduced after which people will feel improvement in working of government hospitals.
In a way Khatak is right in giving warning to those who are not carrying out orders
What follows will be good for them No one is above the law Hope that CM will deliver as promised
This rotten bureaucracy needs to be replaced with fresh, educated and honest people
