Fisheries Minister forms body to survey land grabbing cases

Sindh Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Jam Khan Shoro has constituted a committee to conduct survey of land grabbing in Hyderabad and identification of the elements responsible for regularisation of these lands.
He directed that representatives from Revenue Department, District Police and a public representative would be made members of this committee.
The minister issued these directives while presiding over a meeting of the divisional and district heads of all provincial departments, heads of HMC, HDP and WASA here at ex-district Nazim Secretariat on Monday.
The minister said that the menace of land grabbing had become a lucrative business for the criminal elements.
Responding to a complain raised by PPP District
Hyderabad Vice President Jabbar Khan who also served as Taluka Nazim Latifabad and PPP leader Fateh Talpur that the criminal elements have not only occupied the lands inside of river bed/katcha areas of Latifabad along with main roads but also established housing schemes there and were leasing out their units of buildings, the minister expressed surprise over the preparation of documentations of the lands under illegal occupation of the grabbers.
He directed for constitution of a committee to conduct survey, identify the elements facilitating documentations and prepare recommendations for an action. PPP Hyderabad General Secretary Fayyaz Shah was also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Soho responding to a query by the minister informed that his administration had planned to launch a vigorous anti-encroachment campaign, especially on main roads after the Eidul Fitr. He said that areas under encroachments have already been identified/ surveyed.
