State Bank to issue Rs 135b currency notes before Eid

The State Bank of Pakistan has announced of issuing 135 billion rupees’ new currency notes before Eid to meet demand of people. Printing of new currency notes has been started in the Security Printing Press of Pakistan while scheduled banks have begun delivery those notes to the common people for using on Eid day. People are coming to banks for getting new currency notes but return back in desperation after failing to get some while cashiers of banks are also troubled by public’s over whelmed demand. To meet the demand of new currency notes, the State Bank has opened 90 Express Delivery Centres across the country. Those who fail to get new currency rates on normal rates from the banks; they go to the illegal currency dealers and get required currency notes after paying additional charges.
