The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has appreciated the decision of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to back the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate unconditionally in the upcoming Presidential elections.
In a joint statement released by FPCCI, the leaders of the business community lauded the vision and political maturity of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, MQM chief Altaf Hussain,
and Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad in reaching this understanding for the betterment of the country.
The business leaders welcomed the gesture of both the political parties to set aside political differences in the best interests of Pakistan. They said that country is facing multiple challenges and all political forces should be on one page to counter the major issues such as terrorism, economic crisis, energy shortage and inflation.
In this respect, MQM and PML (N) had taken a good initiative to cooperate, which would hopefully set a good example for other political parties also.
The FPCCI leadership, while welcoming the consensus of both the political parties on Mamnoon Hussain as a presidential candidate, said that Mr. Hussain is an honest, seasoned businessman and enjoys good repute in the business circles.
They said that both the Prime Minister and the presidential candidate Mamnoon Hussain are from the business
community, which would help ensure that the Government would take action to resolve the real problems faced by the country’s businessmen.
Furthermore, they hoped that under the new able leadership of the country, Pakistan’s economic problems would be resolved and the confidence of local and foreign investors would be restored.
Appreciation of FPCCI on decision of both parties PMLn and MQM is actually a voice of every business person in the country especially from Karachi. Karachi is a business capital of the country and it should not be disturbed by the stakeholder of Karachi and federal government. Give chance to peace.
Karachi (Sind) is just a Head offices with less than 20 percent of economic activity……Its basically Punjab….All the major stake holders have ruined this country and only the rich class is responsible for this mess. They have looted this country. This understanding is yet another way to keep the loot going. The business community and the baboos and the boots and the judges n journalist….all are the main beniicaries of this loot…..Way to go…..The destiny will not change….Probably PTI is the way forward. A common thing….just for the interest of Pakistan…..as Musharraf said…..Pakistan first….Very disappointed
