A roadside blast near a vehicle in Upper Kurram’s Pewar Tangi area killed one person and injured two others on Sunday, a TV channel reported.
Political administration officials said a double-door truck, travelling from Parachinar to Piwar Tangi, was struck by a road side Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near the Pak-Afghan border area.
One man was killed while two others were injured in the blast, political administration official Javed Ali added.
He said that the injured were shifted to a hospital.
Meanwhile, residents of Parachinar protested in Peshawar against the twin blasts which killed as many as 57 Shias and injured over 180 in Kurram.
The demonstrators demanded that the government compensate the heirs of those killed in the bombing.
Separately, Afghan President Hamid Karzai denounced the twin explosions.
In a statement from his office, Karzai condemned the deadly assaults targeting fasting Shias as an anti-Islam act that could not be justified in any way
According to the statement, the president extended his sincere condolences to the victims’ families and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi condemned the suicide attacks in Parachinar.
Araqchi said Iranian government and people condole with Pakistanis and expresses its sympathy with victims’ families and the wounded of the terrorist act.
He added, undoubtedly, the move is in direction of ominous goals against Pakistani nation and Islamic world.
The spokesman expressed hope that the Pakistan government confront appropriately with perpetrators of the terrorist act and prevent repetition of such events.
