The Punjab Auqaf Department has finalised its security arrangements for the Shabeena mahafils and the Aiteqaf at the Data Darbar, Badshahi and Wazir Ali Khan mosques.
Around 51 Huffaz had been selected for the Mahafil Shabeena out of which 24, 24 and three would participate in the Data Darbar, Badshahi and Wazir Ali Khan mosques, respectively, an Auqaf spokesperson revealed.
2,600 applications were received from various parts of the province.
Aiteqaf participants would only be allowed after being comprehensively checked and presenting their district ID cards. Arrangements for their Sehr and Iftar had also been made, he added.
Moreover, vigilant security staff had been deputed at the three mosques and a heavy contingent of police would also be deployed, the spokesman revealed.
Walkthrough gates had been installed at entry points while metal detectors would also be used, the spokesman added.
