Shahbaz orders foolproof security on Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali, Eid-ul-Fitr

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that foolproof security arrangements should be made on the occasions of Juma Tul Wida, Youm-e-Alquds ,Eid-ul-Fitr and Hazrat Ali’s (RA) Youm-e Shahadat.

Shahbaz said that law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert for ensuring a peaceful atmosphere and to protect the life and property of the people.

He also directed to constitute a cabinet committee headed by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan to review the security arrangements for these occasions.

Furthermore, he said that the committee will visit various areas of the entire province and review the security arrangements made by the police and the district administration.

Shahbaz was presiding over a high level meeting for reviewing the law and order situation of Punjab. The meeting was attended by Local Government and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, Environment Minister Col (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada, the chief secretary, the inspector general (IG) police and the secretaries of other departments concerned.

 

 

He directed foolproof security arrangements on all important occasions and the stressed on the deputation of the elite force in all important markets on ‘chand raat’.

 

He said that senior officers should personally remain in field to brief their subordinates and to review the security arrangements.

 

He directed the Auqaf department to ensure uninterrupted power supply at important mazars including Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and Bibi Pak Daman.

 

The home secretary, the IG and the heads of law enforcement agencies gave detailed briefings with regard to the law and order situation in the province. Lahore CCPO Ch Shafique Ahmed and DIG Operations Rai Tahir Ahmed briefed the meeting on the security arrangements made for the Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali, Juma Tul Wida, Youm-e-Alquds and Eid-ul-Fitr.
