Chung police on Saturday arrested LESCO’s Sub Division Officer (SDO) Junaid Iqbal for patronizing power thefts in the area.
Iqbal was helping a private office on Multan Road steal electricity. LESCO officials along with security personnel raided and arrested Iqbal but the management of the office managed to escape from the scene.
Robberies:
Robbers snatched Rs 60,000 and five tolas of gold from a house in Bhagbanpura on Saturday.
The robbery took place at one Rohail’s house in Bhaghbanpura. The robbers forcibly entered the premises where they held the family hostage on gunpoint after which they looted the cash, the gold and other valuables.
In another incident, four robbers entered a Utility Store in Islampura and held the staff and customers hostage at gunpoint. The criminals snatched Rs 300,000, mobile phones and other valuables from the hostages and managed to escape.
