Indian Army firing kills Pakistani soldier, injures another at LoC

Unprovoked firing by Indian troops martyred one Pakistan Army soldier and hurt another at the Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday.

The army’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that one of its soldiers, “embraced martyrdom due to unprovoked Indian firing” at the LoC’s Naizah Peer Sector near Rawala Kot, a town in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

“Indian troops violated the ceasefire once again,” the statement said.

“Resultantly Asim Iqbal embraced ‘Shahadat’ (martyrdom) and Naik Muhammad Khan was injured,”it added.

Pakistan and India, two nuclear-armed neighbouring nations had exchanges at the disputed border of Kashmir last year as well when three Pakistani soldiers and two Indian soldiers were killed.
