OGDCL BoD dissolved

The federal government has dissolved the Board of Directors (BoD) of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and also decided to launch a crackdown on political hiring in the company on contract basis at hefty salaries.

The decision has been made on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who also ordered to show all the corrupt officers the door.

According to reports, the OGDCL’s BoD, in violation of rules and regulations, approved 40 per cent raise in the salaries of contract employees working on higher posts. The audit department of the company declared the recruitments and the increase in salary as illegal but the BoD increased the salaries anyway.

The salary and perks of OGDCL Executive Director Masood Nabisaal who has been working on contract since 2009 has been increased from Rs 0.8 million per month to Rs 1.94 million per month. Masood is son of a former minister and his salary is even more than the managing director of the OGDCL.

Similarly, Col. (r) Shafqat Hussain was hired on contract at Rs 2,50,000 per month and his package has been increased to Rs 9,58,164 per month. Package of GM Audit Salman Amin, who was working on contract at Rs 4,50,000 per month, was increased to Rs 9,41,000 per month. He was later appointed as GM commercial in the company. Talat Hanif was hired as Chief HR at Rs 80,000 per month and now his salary has been increased to Rs 5,44,000. Many other names are also included in the list of contract employees who got the raise in their salaries and perks.

What about the appointment of Mr. Ahmad Hayat Lak who was appointed by Dr. Asim Hussain without following any recruitment procedure and was appointed directly by the company in violation of rules and procedure as General Manager Legal Services and also given the charge of company secretary, he was also a close aid to the NAB official Kausar Malik and is the son in law of an ex PPP MNA. May be he has found some source in the present government to save his contractual employment in OGDCL. Action should also be taken against officials involved in recruitment process and the Human Resources officials who facilitated them. Also in the list are Tariq Mehmood Manager CESS and Azhar Chughtai.

  2. The most corrupt man again on very important seat namely khalid malak Manager p&p . who brought back by mr Riaz khan when he was rule for some days as act MD some time before,

    • In order put the record straight, it is clarified that Mr. Khalid Malik was not transferred by Mr. Riaz Khan. He was in fact transferred by the previous management in which Mr. Riaz Khan was not part of any management decision in this particular case.
      kindly be updated the information before going to comments in the holy month of Ramadan.

  3. I agree with the views expressed by Mr. Zahid pertaining to transfer of Mr. Khalid Malik Manager (P & P) OGDCL.

In OGDCL many un qualified / inexpert officers are working on higher posts, these officers promoted due to duration of their service in company and has no idea about the management, the matter is also surprising that 90% officers working as file dispatcher from one table to other. they want to become manager and general manager for getting facility not for working, please arrange a third part technical auditor to evaluate technically these officers as per their current posting.

  6. Manger HR Mukhtar Ahmed is also a corrupt person and he is linked with masood nabi. In OGDCL Mukhtar Ahmed was appointed as LDC (in staff PS-05) Jigar Muhammad was also appointed as LDC (in staff PS-05) now both are manager. Haroon Rasheed was also appointed as LDC (in staff PS-05) and now he is Chief HR. Akhtar Hussain Shah ex. CSO to MD was appointed as Helper and retired from the post of manger. what do you think ? How OGDCL will progress. when these low caliber peoples are acting in the HR management. Mr. Tariq Qureshi I/C Rectt.) was also a bad person.

  7. how about the promotions of the last one year, those who they got promotions two times in less than six months and those who were promoted as Managers, GMs,& EDs ? Don't you think that they have been given a task to represent the company across the glob can't talk even across the table.

    What steps have been taken by the ministry and the present govt, are they aware where OGDCL stands right now, the simple answer is big No to all above ………..

    Promotion criteria is really lovely in OGDCL, every body after three is promoted irrespective of capabilities.All types of Bars including qualification have been removed. You remain metric or intermediate or simple graduate or professional treated equally.

    Let us hope Lord might sent an angle to fix the things because no one wants to do it.

  8. the facts quoted by fayaz ahmed above is reality. Has any body taken notice of it. No, because there is nothing interesting for them. Well, that's how we can drown this ship easily and let's keep putting such type of efforts.

In the last few months in head office the promotions to managers have been made on bulk, even in the same department where only three persons works, two have been promoted to manager even the junior ones(incapable and undeserved) to many seniors waiting for promotion at well sites. This is the highly frustrating move. Why the qualified senior geological officers at well site not promoted while all junior chiefs at head office have been promoted. May allah give eyes to some one to see this discrepancy and make justice with us.
