4 gunned down, 20 suspects nabbed in metropolis

Incidents of targeted killing continued in the port city as four persons were shot dead in a fresh spate of violence, while 20 suspected persons were arrested in search operations conducted by security forces on Friday.
Some unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate firing on a tyre shop at MA Jinnah Road, as a result of which, one man namely Javed Ashraf was killed on the spot.
The body of the deceased was shifted to civil hospital for autopsy.
In another incident, some unidentified armed assailants opened unprovoked fire near Saddar parking plaza, as a result killing one man killed on the spot.
The dead body was shifted to Jinnah hospital for autopsy but his identity could not be ascertained until the filing of this report.
One more man was gunned down in Korangi Chorangi and his dead body was shifted to Jinnah hospital.
In yet another firing incident, unidentified armed assailants shot dead one man at Gulshan Mahamar.
Umair Javed also sustained severe injuries after a firing incident in Shara-e-Faisal near Lal bungalow.
Meanwhile, police also launched search operation in the rest houses and residential flats situated at Defence and Clifton, while apprehending 20 suspected persons.
Heavy contingent comprising personnel from seven police stations, including security guard of defence division, took part in this operation while no weapons were recovered from the nabbed persons.
