It has been decided that two Rawalpindi accountability courts will be abolished after cases falling under Islamabad’s jurisdiction are transferred to two separate courts in the capital. Judges have reportedly only been performing their duties in Rawalpindi Accountability Courts No 2 and 4, while Courts No 1 and 3 lack the appointment of judges. In Islamabad, only Accountability Court No 1 is operational. A judge will be appointed to Court No 2 after Eid-ul-Fitar. Only 15 cases are left in the Rawalpindi courts, after the transfer of all cases in Islamabad’s jurisdiction to Islamabad’s accountability courts.
