The final list of the selected Aitkaf observers at Faisal Mosque will be displayed today, according to an official of the Aitkaf Department. The official said that all arrangements have been finalised for the Aitkaf sitting at the mosque. The Faisal Mosque administration has selected 1,200 people out of 2,300 applicants for a ten-day communion with the Creator in isolation, for the purpose of seeking His blessing and forgiveness for their sins. The selected faithful, from the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, will observe Aitkaf at Faisal Mosque starting on the 20th of Ramadan (July 30). The official said that special arrangements have been made for the Motakafeen (Aitkaf observers) to educate them about ‘Fiqhai’ problems and provide lectures from religious scholars. “Religious scholars will deliver various lectures on different issues on a daily basis until the moon sighting of Shawal,” he said. Observing Aitkaf is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), and carries a multitude of blessings.
