Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai favoured talks with the disgruntled Baloch nationalist leaders to come up with political solutions to the province’s problems.
Speaking with journalists at the governor house on Thursday he emphasised on talks as the solution to all the province’s lingering issues.
Achakzai admitted that the province was facing a constantly worsening law and order situation, thus he had directed the provincial government to take the steps necessary for the protection of the lives and properties of masses.
“After the late Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo, I am the first political governor of Balochistan,” he reminded.
Achakzai said that his family had always made sacrifices for democracy in the country, pointing out that his father spent 36 years behind bars to uphold the banner of truth and democracy.
Furthermore, Achakzai admitted that this was the first time two political parties had been given the people’s mandate, and he told the listeners that both parties should address the grievances of the people.
