87 arrested, 190 vehicles impounded

Police on Tuesday impounded 20 vehicles and 170 motorcycles in different police stations during general holdup and arrested six outlaws besides recovering weapons, stolen cars and 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish from their possession.

According to details, SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq directed all zonal officers, SDPOs and SHOs to remain vigilant against mischievous elements and to enhance security at police posts as well as patrolling in the city.

Meanwhile, black papers were removed from glasses of 44 vehicles and 61 suspects were arrested during search operation carried out in different areas. Police teams also recovered 5 illegal pistols along with 30 bullets. Moreover, twelve beggars were also arrested.

Meanwhile Aabpara Police arrested two Javed Khan and Yasir Yousaf besides recovering stolen mobile phones and 20 cans of beer from them.

Sihala Police arrested Abid Saleem in possession of 30 bore pistol while Sub-Inspector Anees Akbar from Shahzad Town Police arrested a car lifter Zulfiqar and recovered one stolen car (RIV-9988) from him.

Anti car lifting cell of Islamabad Police recovered a tampered car from Aslam while Tarnol Police arrested Irfan Ullah for carrying a 30 bore pistol. Bara Kahu Police arrested Qamar Khan and Changez Khan and recovered 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish from them.

Cases have been registered against and further investigation is underway. SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq has appreciated the performance of the officials and directed them to maintain law and order in the city.
