Lovers swallowed poisonous pills in Lahore over not getting the permission to marry and died in a hospital on Sunday.
According to media reports, a girl Saniya 19, resident of Chung and boy Bilal Hanif 17 (Matric student) resident of AjmerTown, swallowed poisonous pills because their parents did not permit them to marry each other.
Both were shifted to the JinnahHospital in critical condition by the rescue services. Both died after arrival at the hospital.
Bilal’s parents said he talked to them about his wish to marry Saniya but they did not take it seriously.
The police reached the spot and recovered the dead bodies. After initial investigation, the bodies were handed over to the family members
ROBBERIES: A citizen Khalid was looted by robbers in Shahdara area of Lahore. Four robbers snatched his motorbike, cash and mobile phone and escaped form the scene.
In another incident, robbers entered the house of Rahman, a resident of Manawa. The robbers made away with five tola gold, Rs 10,000 cash and other valuables, it was reported.
In a separate incident, guests standing outside a house were robbed in GardenTown area of Lahore. Reports said the robbers came on a motorbike, robbed four tola gold and mobile phones on gun point and escaped the scene.
In another report, robbers entered a medical store situated in South Cantonment area, Ghazi Road, took the medical store staff hostage and escaped with Rs 200,000 cash and other valuables.
The police reached the spot after a call by the store owner and advised him to appoint a security guard.
